RATES OF PAY FOR LOCUMS<\/h1>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Rates of remuneration for locums range from $80\/hr to $200\/hr (all inclusive of salary and benefits) plus superannuation, GST depending on employee or contractor status, reimbursement of per kilometre travel allowance or return airfares (for rural locums) and suitable accommodation (for rural locums). Rates depend on degree of experience, the urgency or difficulty of a position and the amount of notice required.Some of our locums have an ABN and are prepared to work as contractors, billing the Local Health District or employer directly. We make the assumption that hospital locums working on the hospital \/ Local Health District payroll will be generally employer\/hospital indemnified and that locums billing on their own ABNs are responsible for their own indemnity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Office of the Children’s Guardian Working with Children Check<\/h1>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

All newly registering locum doctors please familiarise yourselves with the requirements of the Working with Children Check. Please log onto the website of the Office of the Children\u2019s Guardian (click here<\/a>), provide your details and obtain a lodgement verification number. You are then required to present your 100 pt ID (Passport and Driver\u2019s Licence) to your local ServiceNSW office in NSW to have your ID verified. This will be electronically transmitted to the Commission for Children and Young People\/Office of the Children\u2019s Guardian and they will issue you with a clearance number, which you provide to Active Locums <\/span><\/span>Pty Ltd. Active Locums <\/span><\/span>Pty Ltd will then verify your status on the Office of the Children’s Guardian website and provide it to any facility that you may apply to work in as part of your credentialing package. We have been advised there will be a cost of $80 paid to ServiceNSW which will cover 5 years clearance. All locums are required to complete a National Criminal Record Check (NCRC) prior to working. You may supply your own NCRC when registering with Active Locums Pty Ltd.
